The genesis of the Jaw Harp
Witch Barbara sentenced to death in the 17th century and she remained one last chance to be given a reprieve: She had to invent something new with special value. A buzzing object made of wood propitiated the judges and saved her. The resulting metal jaw harp is produced by the instrument factory Schwarz since 1679 and is exported to over 40 countries in the world.
The new Original Schwarz jaw harps are a further development in sound technology. The closed frame makes playing easier and the precise playing edge ensures more powerful tones. The distance between frame and spring has been further reduced and a wider steel spring ensures a higher sound volume
